I've been in an artist's rut as of late. Sure I did some fanart but I really need to do some more original work and comics. I probably need to look at some more comics for ideas. I also have been watching too much TV and Youtube and I should read more...

Speaking of reading, I'm upset that Wizard Magazine(One of my favorite magazines) has canceled it's "sister" magazine Anime Insider.(The news about it is right here) My guess it's because of the economy(Big shocker...¬_¬) but still it sucks that one of my other favorite magazines got canceled espeically when I was plan on getting the latest which is now the last issue. I probably have to find another anime related magazine to read...

Anyway, here's some fanart:

SuperGirl is still my favorite female superhero even though I haven't read her latest comics...I wish I could either write or draw a comic about her.

Diego aka Dr.Chipotle Jr from El Tigre:The Adventures of Manny Rivera. I haven't seen the show in awhile since Nick decided to not air the rest of the episodes. I'm hoping that Nick decides to make a DVD of the series(And maybe DVDs for some other Nicktoons like Angry Beavers)

Awhile back I've got the DS version of Dragon Quest V, which has to be one of the best Dragon Quest games I have ever played. Even though I'm a Final Fantasy fan, I like the Dragon Quest series because it give me an "old-school" feeling when I'm playing these games. So here's a pic of a Slime(The Dragon Quest Animal Mascot) and a Heal Slime(one of my favorite Dragon Quest monster)

Sierra M. Though I am upset the Marvel has decided after the Messiah Complex crossover(Which was good BTW), they would cancelled New X-Men and they waited so long to tell us about it. -_____-;

I'm just hoping the upcoming series Young X-Men will be just as good even though only a couple of the characters from New X-Men will be starring in the comic. It makes me wonder what'll become of Mercury and Wither since they'll probably won't be in Young X-Men...

I love Supergirl. She's an interesting character and I feel that's she's way better than Superman. I've been reading old issues of Supergirl from Pre-Crisis to Matrix to Earth Angel. I've really enjoyed Jeph Loeb's run on Supergirl and Joe Kelly's run on Supergirl despite what other people thought. Though Kelly Puckett's run on Supergirl isn't going so well...

Isn't it ironic that the people who kept on complaing about Joe Kelly being the writer on Supergirl on now complaining even more when DC got a new writer? If I ever got the chance, I would love to write a Supergirl comic. ^___^

When I thought that Nick's shows weren't as good as they were 10 years ago, here comes El Tigre:The Adventures of Manny Rivera. I have to say not only it was well animated in flash but it also had an interesting concept and character designs. Though it's sad the Nick ended the show with only 26 episodes. It bugs me that most animated shows only last up 1-3 seasons. Well anyway, here's some fanart I did of a couple of El Tigre's baddies.

Here's some baddies from the cartoon Yin Yang Yo!. It's an ok show though the designs on the show are very simple. Though it's well animated for a flash cartoon. Not matter what cartoon I see, I always like the bad guys more the good guys. I guess I'm the girl who loves bad boys. :3

Sierra M. I spent a whole week hanging out with my uncle(Who happens to be a storyboard artist for movies) & his family and my grandpa.

Most of the time, we went out to the National Gallery of Art to see the "Henri Rousseau: Jungle in Paris" exhibit. Though I really wanted to go a Keith Haring exhibit...But I was able to see a photographic portrait of him at the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.

There's me at the National Gallery of Art

We also went to the Smithsonian museum of Natural History. We had thai, japanese, Applebees, sushi, pizza(On this occasion, we order a pizza but we got the wrong order so we got an extra pizza plus buffalo wings for free), and BBQ. Man, ever since my younger brother left for college, my mom didn't feel like cooking for three people(Me, my mom and dad)

Yummy! Bento Lunch for me! ^__^

We also went to the Lurey Caverns but I didn't want to go because I wanted to go the comic book store on that day. Plus I don't see anything great about a cave.(Well there was one part of the cave that I like but that was it...) In fact we got there, I was creeped out by it, especially the part when they played the organ music. It was so calm and wonderful but hearing a creepy cave made me feel uncomfortable. What really bugged me was that it took us 2 hours just to go to a tour for 1 hour. Plus it cost $19 for each and that's 7 of us plus 1 kid(One of cousins that visit was under the adult age). Geez...At least I was able to go the comic book store after we were done.

Spooky Caves. During the week when my relatives were hanging out with me & my family, it was SIGGRAPH week in which all of my animation teachers attended to thos I didn't have classes for a whole week. But they told us that we need to still work on our stuff. But I've been known to procrastinate till the last minute, which I did...

I could have worked on Friday, but I used Friday as my "Me Time" day. That meant, I went out to the mall and other places and got myself this stuff:

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
Futurama: The Time Bender Triology
Strawberry Marshmallow vol. 1
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Graphic Novel
Clerks the Animated Series DVD collection

Plus I was able to show my uncle my work and he thought it was really good. And he recommended that I should continue working on my comics and submit my stuff to a publisher. I really SHOULD work on my comics instead of working at Toys R Us. I really want to get pay for drawing and not for standing behind a register. I need to find an art job somewhere out there...

Sierra M.
